DC Comics has rivalled Marvel for years as the biggest publisher of comic books and comic book movies. A subsidiary of Warner Bros. since 1967, DC has brought us some of the most iconic heroic characters such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker and plenty more.
The initials "DC" came from the company's popular series "Detective Comics" which featured Batman's debut. Between Marvel and DC together it was recorded they share approximately 70% of the American comic book market in 2017.
